For many years companies have based their goals and objectives on quarterly and annual figures, focused on the financial benefits to shareholders and spent their time comparing themselves to their competitors in a desperate attempt to be perceived as the best.
Business, however, is an infinite game - we recommend listening to Simon Sinek about that. This understanding that our key objective, although Planters has already been established in the Middle East for more than 40 years, is to continue to exist has made our entire company explore what our actual purpose is.
When thinking about this, we held consultations with our team members and asked them to define what Planters “Why” should be, and they succeeded in understanding the real reason we are here:
‘Everything we do, we seek to improve on what was done before and to empower every person in our team to achieve that goal.’
It is a very simple ethos of corporate self-improvement to constantly find ways through innovation, service analysis, review and constructive criticism to enhance and improve the products and services that we offer to our clients and workplace we provide our team.
And this goes hand in hand with the empowerment of our team through clearly defined career paths supported with training and development along with continuing to provide a work environment where challenges are learning opportunities and trust, transparency is constant.
Although our “Why” was only established in 2022 it has already had a significant impact on shareholder decision-making. It has already placed us in a position to continue to be successful for the next 40 years.
